Turnpilot: every turn, on time

Why Turnpilot exists: so that every turnaround leaves on time. Every turn, on time.

Turnpilot is ground handling control software. It grew out of a conviction: station teams do demanding, minute-by-minute work with tools that show them only part of the turnaround, and usually after the fact.

Our mission

To give the people who perform aircraft turnarounds the means to keep them on time: see every turnaround in real time, act before the delay exists, prove what happened.

Our signature says it in four words: Every turn, on time.

How we see ground handling

The turnaround is one of the densest moments in airline operations. Passengers, baggage, equipment and aircraft converge on a single stand, in a short time, with several organisations that have to coordinate. We believe that:

  • punctuality is won during the turnaround, not in the next morning’s report;
  • every team needs its own view: the supervisor sees the station, the agent sees the next task;
  • facts beat versions: a disputed minute is settled with a time-stamped record, not with recollections;
  • the tool adds to what exists: it does not replace the systems in place, it complements them;
  • the system proposes, people decide.

That view gave rise to the Turnpilot platform and its features.

The principles behind the product

  • The ramp first — A screen that cannot be used with gloves, in the rain or without a network has no place on the ramp.
  • No double entry — Agents are only asked for what no system already knows.
  • Explainable — Every alert says why it appears; every decision stays human.
  • Respect for crews — A tool for running operations, not for monitoring people.
  • Customer data — Data remains the property of those who entrust it to us, in line with the GDPR: see security and data.
  • Honesty — No blanket figures: benefits are measured on your operation, with your data.
